Parents may make a request to retain their K-8th grade student using the following process:
- The parent will make a written request to their student's teacher;
- The parent will consult with the student’s homeroom teacher;
- The homeroom teacher will provide evidence indicating whether the student’s academic achievement and readiness would be successful at the next grade level;
- The homeroom teacher will consult with the CVA administrator about the final decision.
Based on this consultation and review, the CVA principal will make the final decision regarding the request for retention.
