Columbia Virtual Academy (CVA) teachers are here to help you and your student succeed. Every CVA teacher is Washington State Certified. You are assigned a CVA teacher once you have completed the enrollment process and you will be able to rely on your teacher for guidance and support. As part of CVA's partnership with families, teachers participate in student learning by

• communicating with students on a weekly basis to support learning

• monitoring student progress

• having voice or video conversations with students and parents monthly to discuss student progress

• coaching students and parents and assisting with the transfer of knowledge

• working individually with students who need additional support

• reviewing student work samples

• demonstrating professional practices in teaching

• modeling correct use of language, oral and written

• demonstrating accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content

• helping to implement designated curriculum
