A Thespian in the Works

Dante True, a sixth grade student at CVA, has been bitten by the theater bug. Dante recently participated in “Scrooge: The Musical.” The Paradise Theatre in Gig Harbor, cast Dante as Tiny Tim and, according to a review by Michael C. Moore, reporter for the Kitsap Sun, Entertainment Section, he delivered a “sweet-voiced version” of his character to the audience. “Dante’s version of ‘The Beautiful Day’ was one of the show’s best songs,” reported Mr. Moore.

Dante also participated in the “Winter Performance 2015,” during which he tap danced to “Hot Chocolate” from the movie Polar Express. He also sang to “Merry Christmas Polka.” Dante previously played roles in “Into the Woods,” “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and “The Hobbit,” and he played a part in the production, “Elf: The Musical.”

According to his CVA teacher, Douglas Coates, “Dante has been an excellent CVA student since 2013.” The flexible CVA schedule dovetails well into his acting career. Keep your eye out for Dante True, as his passion for acting might just propel him into greater opportunities.
