The WIDA (World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment) assessments have replaced the ELPA21 assessments starting with the 2021-2022 school year.
The WIDA Screener is administered to potential English language learner students to determine if they qualify for ELL instructional services.
The WIDA ACCESS is the annual assessment each student identified as an English language learner is expected to take. The WIDA ACCESS helps determine progress made in reading, writing, speaking and listening in English. If a student tests proficient in all four areas, English language instructional services are no longer needed and the student is exited from the services.
