Students enrolled in private schools may enroll at CVA. However, Washington State law places limitations on private school students enrolling in public school:
- RCW 28A.150.350 and WAC 392-134-015 define a “private school student” as a student enrolled full-time in a private school.
Because of this:
- Students enrolled full-time in a private school may only take courses through CVA that are not offered at the private school.
- Students enrolled in a private school less than full-time do not meet the legal definition of a “private school student,” so they may share enrollment between the two schools.
- Students may not be enrolled full-time in both a private school and CVA at the same time.
Questions about sharing enrollment between CVA and a private school should be discussed with the CVA Enrollment Advisor during registration.
