Why We Use Microsoft Authenticator
At Columbia Virtual Academy (CVA), we use Microsoft Authenticator to keep accounts safe. This app adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second step when signing in, helping to protect against unauthorized access.
Benefits of Microsoft Authenticator
- Protects your account from hackers
- Easy and quick sign-in
- No need to remember extra passwords
- Required for secure access to school resources
How to Download Microsoft Authenticator on Your Personal Device
Follow these steps to get started:
- Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Search for Microsoft Authenticator.
- Tap Install or Get to download the app.
- Once installed, open the app.
How to Sign In and Set Up Microsoft Authenticator
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Tap Add Account.

- Choose Sign in and enter your school email address and password.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. You may need to scan a QR code (provided by your school’s IT department) or verify your login through another method.
