Public school districts are responsible to ensure that funding for each student enrollment does not exceed allowable amounts.
Full-Time Students
Full-time students are typically receiving all of their education from CVA and funding is determined by the average estimated weekly hours on student learning plans.
The minimum weekly hours for all full-time students as defined in WAC 392-121-122 is 27 hours and 45 minutes each week. CVA school districts will receive the maximum allowable funding for full-time students.
Part-Time Students
Part-time students are receiving a portion of their education from another public school, private school or from Home-Based Instruction.
Shared enrollment agreements between school districts are required when students are receiving a portion of their education from another public school. Parents should notify their enrollment advisor as soon as possible if students are planning to attend classes in another public or private school.
Funding for part-time students is determined by the average estimated weekly hours on learning plans and by shared enrollment agreements with other public school districts, when applicable.
Students receiving a portion of their education from home-based instruction may still be considered full time by CVA if the minimum weekly hours requirement is met and no portion of public funding is claimed by another school district.
